Frankfort - North Pier
Edit SpotAbout
Sweet water - showers not needed!!! Thirsty!! Drink up!!
High winds can stir up colder waters just offshore & push them close to shore - and make wetsuits a necessity even in summer - plus 'Wind chill' effects!!
Additional Info:
Most consistent spot I found so far in the area..
Sand bottom. Very large rocks along breakwater - none in lineup. Rights & lefts. Can get some long rides - also some reforms..
Best on strong South/southwest swell wraps around north pier.
Relatively sheltered from strong south winds by a pair of solid ~1500+ ft long x 6 foot high, solid concrete jetties.
The stronger the south winds and longer the fetch the better..
Still all relatively short period swells with short swell windows - get on it and quickly - can die to zero in a few minutes.. Easy to snooze & loose!! Good local vibe in the water..

This wave is where I grew up surfing! Its a really fun wave when it works. Lots of people on the beach, always has A TON of chicks! On a good day, you can get 100 yard rides. From the elbow of the pier to 4 inches of sand 100 yards down the beach.
