About

RESPECTS THE FEW LOCALS THAT HAVE DAILY SURFED BOTH SIDES OF THE ISLAND FOR TOO MANY YEARS.LOVE IT N RESPECT IT.

Atmosphere:
This spot is a quiet spot because most of the surfers round here like using there local beaches. This beach is often better than all the others but because there aren't many houses directly on it, it can be quite. It can get quite croweded though on a good day. The water is nice and there are beautiful dunes that make sweet slides. Flattop island is walkable to on low tide and has a great view.

Additional Info:
Hearns is a great beach. If you got a 4x4 you can drive it onto the beach and park less than 30 meters from the break. Great for shortboards but when the swell isn't up longboards can be really good. For bodyboarding it's great though the waves, when big can be killers. There are a couple of small rips and the beach is unpatrolled but if you're experienced you can easly handle it. If you're not just go out with a local.
The reef is not always good or safe but when it is it is best to accsess it by climbing off the rocks of flattop. Flattop is only accessable on low tide.

Access

From Coffs Harbour travel up the Pacific Highway for about 25-30 kilometers. You will see a turn off to a place called Sandy Beach on your right (this is just after Emerald Beack). Keep traveling, go under an overpass then there will be a second turn off to sandy beach. Pass that and the next turn on your right is Hearns Lake Rd. There is a caravan park on the left hand side of the road. Just travel to the end of this road. Probably less than a kilometer and you're there. You can drive on the beach if you want.
