Jones Beach

About

I'd rather go to TOBAY or Gilgo or Robert Moses, try to escape localism. Just go out and have fun, try not to get wanna be spongers drop in on you. Some one help me get PICTURES up!!!!

Atmosphere:
Once again... ULTRA CROWDED during the week and weekends. Best to stay after lifeguards leave... families go too, or go early. Frigid winters, but the swells are worth it.

Additional Info:
Don't go from the months of June to August ULTRA CROWDED... just move down away from the lifeguards, they will call you into their watch. Family beach. I prefer TOBAY beach, less family and localism. Fun wave, nice winter swells. Can get big, when its too big, it gets sloppy. You need a town permit to park at TOBAY. Nice around 6-8ft. NOTE: Not crowded at West End ever.

Jones Beach is a state park... meaning VERY CROWDED by lifeguards... move down if you want to surf. Don't even bother during the weekend. Look for the large tower, and follow the signs.
NOTE: Certain areas are crowded, West End is NOT, there are NO lifeguards at West End. Surfing is great, it is not crowded.
