If big winds are blowing from the Mount Cook area, you should really try out this spot to have an incredible experience, namely surfing a point on turqoise coloured glacier water.

Windswell sometimes travels over 50 kilometers from the Mount Cook area to the south end of Lake Pukaki were it hits bottom and creates a fun lefthand point break at the southwest area of the lake, near the national road (road 8) that crosses the lake.

It is no Raglan or Whangamata of course, but when it is on, you'll be in for a very special experience of lakesurfin'
