Puerto Arista
Edit SpotAbout
Totally empty if you don't go during Christmas or Easter.
I did a surf tour of Mexico in 2000.
I got there end of May, we were 3 tourists in a dead town. Only 3 hotels available. This is apparently where beach people from Chiapas go on holidays for Semana Santa.

Additional Info:
Fun waves, good to surf after breaking your neck in Puerto Escondido. No strong currents.

Nice town in general, cool people. Stay at Jose’s camping cabins. Cool vibes...Tell him Alan from South Carolina says high.

You can get to Puerto Arista by bus from major towns in Chiapas / Oaxaca during mexican holidays (christmas and Semana Santa=easter). However, for the rest of the year, you will have to go for a cab. The spot is right at Puerto Arista beach. Just walk along the beach to find the best break.
