Not a great spot, but near to Newcastle so quite popular. Can often be busy with beginners but generally more than enough waves to go around.

About 1/2 a mile north of Tynemouth Town Centre - park on the ramp and walk down to the beach.
A useful rip runs out by the rocks at the south end of the beach on bigger days.
