umdloti tidal pool

About

Very, very good when the banks, swell and winds come together. A bit fickle, only works a few week a year, best in mid winter, but when I does work, it really goes off....

Atmosphere:
Clear water in winter and dolphins for company in the line-up... awesome pizzeria and restaurant with a cool pub right there for a few cold ones afterwards. Great view over the water, and the tidal pool offers respite when paddling in after an epic session.

Additional Info:
Plenty parking in the street during the week, but will battle to find a spot on he weekends unless you arrive REAL early. Rather pull in on your scooter. Paddle out through the tidal pool through the break in the reef, or off the beach to the south of the rocks. A fast, long, hollow RH wave can get perfect in winter when the offshore blows in the mornings. Must be fit and sea-savvy, or you may end up caught on the and bank and get pushed against the rocks in a big swell.
