El Skupa

About

Totally epic. Paradise on steroids!

Atmosphere:
The only way to get there is to stay at the St Regis or by boat. Most boats just pass by as there are so many good waves in the area. If you have the money like to surf and golf it is a great trip with the wife. Wave is right out front of the property. You can hike around the corner and there are several waves around. St Regis will take you by boat. Punta Mita is a special place and the world is onto it. Houses and condos are going in the millions and access is blocked for public.

Additional Info:
El Skupa is a very fun wave. Fairly mellow wave on small days. It can get powerful and barrel when it is big. El Skupa breaks on all tides depending on size. Picks up the majority of swell directions. Good for intermediate on smaller days. Not a good wave for beginners, there are lots of submerged rocks. It is a very beautiful spot. Lot's of good waves in the area. Mainly for experienced surfers as they are all rocky points.

The name of this wave is a memorial to a friend of mine that passed away tragicaly at age 41 from a heart attack right there in front of the wave. He was celebrating his 10 year anniversary with his wife. He was a wonderful person, good father and husband. He left behind a wife and two young children. Go there catch a wave and have gratitude for your health and good fortune. Go in have a cocktail and a cheers for Skup.
