Moat creek

About

Fun, but a little fickle, and spooky as all hell. Get it on the right tide, swell and wind though, and its as good as any reef break in California.

Atmosphere:
Spooky. A creek with cow manure flows into it. Tons of kelp rotting w/ drift wood and dead animals on bowling ball beach. Austere moon-scape cliffs fanning out to the north and south. Very sharky vibe...

Additional Info:
Fun reef break. It can be a little fickle, and rocks can pop up at the wrong tide. It also is rarely large, and usually mushy. One of the better places in Mendo for a long board.

Generally just a fun, pretty safe wave except for the rocks. However, saw it breaking a few feet over head once on this gigantic south swell back in July of '96, friggin perfect wave that day.
