About

For all the scary shit around it, its still a kick ass wave and a really humbling experience. Its only you and your mates out there away from the crowds of some localised spots around Capetown.

Atmosphere:
Its a scary spot when down there. The water always seems abit darker than elsewhere, abit of a horror movie of the west coast but also cause the cliff gives a shadow over it. If you wipe out too bad (which you will), youll end up in a small cave infront of the break, under the cliff. Get out've there before youre sucked in too deep, when the tides at its highest the cave dissapears and you gotta hope you end up next to it, rather than in it. 'Sea Bamboes' everywhere, mussel coverd rocks which hurt, hence the name. Oh, one last thing.. no hospitals around either.

Additional Info:
Somewhere south of orange river in Namaqualand. This is a kak scary spot, the heaviest wave we've surfed for sure. Could be one of the heaviest in S.A, a mini shark island lookalike. The wave sucks off and ledges off a huge rock which you gotta watch out for, a mate of mine lost his front teeth, weve all had injuries ranging from concussion, broken wrist, cuts etc. You gotta jump off a cliff to get right close to it, dont jump to far to right or left of it cause then youre fucked! Just go for it, hold your breath, dont think twice and hope you make it out..

Wont give too much details cause secret spot, but gotta 4x4 through private farmland, karoo environment and then come to the end of the road, make your own road by driving over small sand dunes for about 200m untill you get to a cliff, down the cliff and then you see the monster breaking below. Youll hear it before you see it, trust me.
